Activation of the Nautical Guide to New Caledonia
Each guide must be activated for a particular computer.
When the CD-ROM is first inserted into a computer, or the downloaded guide is first run from your hard drive, a registration box appears with two codes in red boxes - a Site Code and a MID code. It looks like this.

If your computer is on line, click on the button that says "Email Codes"to open a pre-addressed email with the codes already in it.
Before actually sending the Email you must enter the serial number of the disk which is on the CD-ROM label - or the order number that came with the download links.
Then send the email and we will reply with the activation code - normally within 24 hours. The serial number on the CD disk label is NOT the activation code.
If the computer is not on-line or the email does not open automatically you can copy the Site Code and MID code (highlight the code by clicking on the box and dragging over the number then hold down the Ctrl key and press the C key at the same time (Ctrl+C).
Open a word file or notepad and paste (Ctrl +V) the code into the file. Do the same for the MID code. Then add the disk serial number from the CD disk label (or the order number from the email that had your download links) and save the file on a USB key. You can email the file as an attachment to an email from another computer.
Send it to
If you decide to hand copy the code onto a piece of paper and send it from an Internet Cafe, please note the code contains no letter "o", only zeros and no letter "l" or "i", only ones. Also include the dashes between the groups of letters and numbers.
When we send you the activation code, put the CD back into the SAME computer you sent the registration codes from and the registration box will appear again.
Enter the new code in the box labeled Activation code and then click on ACTIVATE.
That's it. The guide will now work on that computer even if you copy the guide to the hard drive.
You can copy the contents of the CD to your hard drive by clicking on the help icon ? and clicking on the link to load the guide onto your hard drive (in the middle of the page). This will make a folder on your C drive called NOUVELLECALEDONIE and copy the contents of the CD into it.
Then the program should also copy a shortcut called NCALGUIDE.lnk to your desktop - but often Vista won't allow this. If there is no shortcut to the guide on your desktop after the program has finished copying all the other files you'll need to open the C:/NOUVELLECALEDONIE folder in Windows file manager and then drag the NCALGUIDE shortcut onto your desktop.
