Installation and Activation of the Nautical Guide to New Caledonia

The installation file is a normal Windows style installer. Just doulbe click on the INSTALL-CRUISING-NEWCALEDONIA.EXE file and follow the wizard. (Note: If you have Windows 7 with Windows Essentials Antivirus and if you are installing from a DVD, turn off Windows Essentials before inserting the DVD.)

The cruising guide must be activated for the computer you intend to use it on while cruising. If you want to activate it on more than one computer or if you are buying a new computer click here for instructions on how to remove the license or get another one.

To activate the cruising guide please go through the following steps:

1. After installing the Cruising Guide on the computer you intend to use it on while cruising double click on the NCALCRUISING.EXE file or on the desktop shortcut to start the program.
   
   Note: if your antivirus program offers to run the program in a sandbox or virtual space select the option to run the program normally - otherwise the program cannot be registered on your computer.

2. A registration window like the one below will appear with two codes in red boxes - a Site Code and a MID code.

If the computer you will use the guide on while cruising is connected to the Internet and you use an e-mail program like Outlook:

1. Click on the button that says "Email Codes" to open a pre-addressed email with the codes already in it.

2. Before actually sending the Email add the serial number of the disk which is on the Disk label - (or the order number from your download email).

3. Send the email and we will reply with the activation code - normally within 24 hours.

If the computer you will use the guide on while cruising is connected to the Internet and you use an online email program like Hotmail or Gmail:

1. Log on to your email program and address a new email to - note the site name is rocket-guides.com (guides with an s).

2. Return to the registration window and copy the Site Code (highlight the code by clicking on the box and dragging over the number then press and hold down the Ctrl key and press the C key at the same time (Ctrl+C).

3. Go back to the email program and paste the Site code (Ctrl+V) into the email.

4. Repeat the copy and paste process for the MID code.

5. Add the serial number from the disk label (or the order number from the download email) and send the email.

If the computer you will use the guide on while cruising is not connected to the Internet:

1. Open a word file or notepad and paste the codes into that.

2. Save the file on a USB key.

3. Go to an Internet Café or to another computer that can access the Internet and put the USB key into that computer.

4. Log into your hotmail account and open a new email and address it to
   . Select “attach file” from the hotmail menu bar and browse to the USB key to select the file with the codes.

5. Send the reply when the file has uploaded.
   
   If you decide to hand copy the codes onto a piece of paper and send it from an Internet Cafe, please note the codes contain no letter "o", only zeros and no letter "l" or "i", only ones.
   
   Also include the dashes between the groups of letters and numbers.

 

When you receive the activation code

When we send you the activation code, restart the program on the SAME computer you sent the registration codes from and the registration window will appear again.

Copy and paste the activation code into the box that says “activation code” or, if you enter it by typing, don’t forget there are no letter os, only zeros and no letter i or L, only the number one.

Finally click on CONTINUE. (If the activation fails you have entered the activation code incorrectly or are using a different computer from the one you sent the registration codes from - check to be sure the site and mid codes are the ones you sent in your email).

That's it. The guide will now work on that computer unless you make major changes to the hardware - like installing a new operating system or changing the hard disk drive. If you plan to make major changes to your computer - or to get a new computer - you need to uninstall the aestivation license from the computer so you can get a new code.
